To all my biker friends:

You may have heard that my wife and I don't ride anymore, but we are missing the camaraderie and the social life associated with bike riding. We miss breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend rides with friends. Over the last couple of weeks we talked with some former biker friends about the idea to create a “Former Biker Social Club” where we continue to have our social events, just without the ride. I know “It's the journey not the destination”, but we always enjoyed the socializing at the destination as much as the ride.

Here is our suggestion: Lets meet once or twice a month for breakfast, lunch or dinner and talk about the time when we had been riding. Let us know if you want to be informed about upcoming meetings.

If you want to be included in my email distribution list send me an email with FBSC in the subject.

I finally upgraded to Joomla! 3.4 because the support for my 2.5 version ended by the end of last year.
Today (2021-08-27) I upgraded the database to MySQL 5.7.

I was always amazed by time lapse movies. Recently I got a new camera and I had to try to make a time lapse movie myself. My first attempt was a time lapse movie of a Prickly Pear cactus flower in my backyard. These cactus flowers bloom only one day. I setup my my camera on a tripod and I used a timer to shot a picture ever minute for 13 hours. I ended up with about 800 pictures. Here is the link to my second time lapse movie on YouTube

Now with my Motorola smartphone it is a lot easier to take time lapse movies. The camera has a setting for slow motion and time lapse videos. Just set the camera on a table or somewhere, start the time lapse video and that's it.
