In January 2024 we went on a Mexican Riviera cruise round trip from Los Angeles. In March we went to the Luke Days Airshow at the Luke Airforce base in Glendale, Arizona. It is always a great event to see military aircraft up close and and the skills of the pilots performing in the airshow. In April we went for 3 short weeks to Austria to see family the first time since 2019.

The Alaska vacation in September was our birthday present. We went on a 7 day cruise out of Vancouver, Canada to Anchorage and added a 11 day land tour from Anchorage to Fairbanks, Alaska. Princess cruises operates 5 lodges in Alaska and we stayed in each of their lodges 2 nights. The land tour was the most impressive part of this trip. The cruise stopped in Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway. These are small towns along the cost, but the land tour went from Anchorage all the way up to Fairbanks in the middle of Alaska. There where several highlights on this trip. Fall foliage, Train ride, Denali National Park, Gold panning and a visit to a native village. At the end of the trip on our flight from Fairbanks to Anchorage we saw the northern lights from the plane.
